As painters, we are constantly balancing the lights and the darks. Our darks on a canvas can represent the shadow work that must be done in our waking life. Dealing with death, destruction, and any other darkness that manifests itself, is necessary so that we may return to the light. Mushrooms and moths can remind us time and time again, that even in our dark times, there is light and life to be found on the other side.
